A position has become available on our 680 cow, 54 bail rotary shed, based in the beautiful Hurunui District town of Rotherham. the local school ( yr 0-6) is just 2km up the road. Culverden is 10min car drive away with a local area school, grocery store and other small town shops. Hanmer Springs is just a 30 minute drive North with the beautiful hot pools, endless hiking and mountain biking at your door.  Our job is for someone who has an eye for detail, enjoys working by them selves or within a team, and takes pride in the farm and cow shed.  we are currently heading into our 7th season contract milking on the family farm. We are looking for a keen, motivated person to join our team on our family farm in Waiau, North Canterbury. We milk 950 cows through a 60 bail rotary, with twice a day milking for most of the year. Top 400 cows twice a day, the rest once a day morning only, everything once a day March to end of May. We have a system that allows for not getting cows in, they walk themselves to milking while the coffees being drunk. Calves are grazed off farm from January till they return in May the following year as in calf. All ground work is done in house so plenty of tractor work available. We are looking for a permanent staff member to jump aboard our team once our Scottsman's visa has run out in November. Preferably chasing a character that knows how to jump into battle when the busy time is on. We are on the lookout for a senior Farm Assistant to join our small team in Sheffield. Start date: ASAP Location: 5min to Sheffield, and 10min to Darfield. Milking 650 xbred cows through a new 54 bale rotary with ACRs, auto teat spray, atip drafting and inshed feeding. The farm is a flat 156ha property that is irrigated mainly by pivots. On farm staff is the Contract Milker (+wife occasionally helping out), 2IC, and this farm assistant role. We are looking for someone experienced and capable of all tasks on farm and will be paid according to experience.  The successful applicant must have a minimum of 2 seasons experience on a New Zealand based dairy farm. Must be able to drive a tractor and ride a 2 wheeler. We run a 7-2, 7-2, 7-3 roster for a majority of the season with 6 weeks of 6on 1off over calving. A 2 bedroom home provided with Heatpump and fire. Competitive remuneration will be dependent on experience.
