Good cows, good crew & good farming!
We’re looking for a switched-on, reliable farm assistant to join our team in the Matamata area, milking 400 cows through a 40-aside herringbone shed.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys the practical side of farming and is ready to take on a bit more responsibility. You’ll work alongside us to keep the farm ticking along, with the opportunity to step up as 2IC when needed and help keep things running smoothly.
What we’re looking for:
- 2 years+ dairy farming experience under your belt.
- A good understanding of how the farming season operates.
- Someone who can follow instructions, use their initiative when needed and get the job done.
- Reliable, hardworking and keen to learn.
- Someone who takes pride in their work and gets stuck in.
- Tractor and machinery experience is a bonus.
- A valid NZ drivers licence.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in NZ on an open visa. We are not an accredited employer and cannot provide visa sponsorship.
We’re after someone who enjoys being part of a team but is also confident working independently and taking ownership of their responsibilities. You’ll need common sense, good communication skills, and a willingness to get the job done, whether that means working alongside the team or getting stuck in on your own.
