Dairy Cattle Farm Assistant / Farm Worker – Entry Level

📍 Location: Taupo, New Zealand

We are looking for three reliable, motivated, and hardworking individuals to join our team as Dairy Farm Assistants or Farm Workers. This is an excellent opportunity for those eager to start or grow their careers in the dairy industry. You will work closely with Contract Milker to ensure the smooth operation of daily farm tasks.

Farm Details:

• Milking 1,250 cows at peak through a 60-bale rotary shed.
• Rolling contour farm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with daily farm operations, including:
  • Milking twice daily (most of the year).
  • Animal health and welfare (monitoring and caring for livestock).
  • Calf rearing (feeding, health checks, and general care).
  • Feeding stock (preparing and distributing feed).
  • Effluent management (operating and maintaining effluent systems).
  • Fencing and weed control (general farm maintenance).
  • Ensuring farm compliance with health & safety, environmental, and animal welfare regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidates.
• A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work early morning shifts (starting around 4:00 AM).
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to operate 2-wheelers, 4-wheelers, and tractors.
• Availability to work 30–45 hours per week.
• Must be willing to live on-farm (shared, well-maintained accommodation provided).
• A clear criminal record is required.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license or be legally able to drive in New Zealand.

Farm Policies:

• No smoking or vaping on the farm.
• No pets allowed.

Pay Rate:

💰 $29.66 per hour
