Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available.
The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We rear ~70 replacement calves and they stay on farm until 1st May.
This is a great opportunity to work with the farm owners and set yourself up for a great career in dairying. Typically there are 2 people on farm through calving and mating and then after this the employee can take on more responsibilities. We are young farm owners and we would love to find someone who we can help progress through the industry. We are supportive of on and off farm training.
