We are looking for an honest, reliable, motivated person to fill this job. Currently milking 260 Jersey/ jersey cross on 110 effective Ha flat land. Have some mating bulls on farms. Calves kept on farm until May, then sent to grazing.
The cowshed is an older 24 aside herringbone with ACRs.
System 2 Farm with Maize and Chicory grown on farm. Silage round bales and hay - OAD milking from (Mid February) to end season - April.
• Spring Calving - 1st July start (Approx keeping 65 replacement heifers) and 10 bulls
Excellent time management, punctuality, can follow instructions and has great communication skills. Common sense approach. Physically fit - Someone who takes pride in farm appearance and personal. - Animal health - identify lame animals and cares about animal wellbeing.
Plant Cleaning & Hygiene - Controls weeds. Sets break fences and feeds out as directed. - Milk Harvesting - can pick up mastitis, lame cows - Feeding out - silage and maize - Careful with tractor and implements - Calf feeding and picking up calves.
Getting cows in the mornings and afternoon to the milking shed. You need to know how to drive a tractor/quad bike (helmet) responsibly. Have at least 2 years experience. You will be responsible for daily farm duties and other farming tasks. Must be able to work in NZ. • Must be smoke-free • Must be drug-free
