We are looking for a motivated, reliable person to join our small team who has the right attitude and willingness to learn, with some farm experience already. We run an efficient high input dairy farm milking 730 cows through a 54 bale-rotary, milking twice a day all year round. We have a split calving herd, maximise the use of 2 large feed barns for daily feeding and shelter and rear all the calves on farm. Your daily tasks include but not limited to: Milking cows with excellent animal husbandry skills. Operating tractor, mixer wagon and feeding out to cows. Maintenance of facilities, vehicles and machinery. General farm duties including setting up paddocks, water management, weed/pest control, feeding calves, fencing and general farm repairs. Who can drive a tractor and 2 and 4 wheeler bikes. Has good understanding of animal husbandry and welfare. Must show common sense and a willingness to learn, with good communication. We are looking for an experienced assistant and/or relief milker to help us through the busy calving and mating period, and the rest of the season. OAD all season. We are looking for a relief milker  for 3 days a week during July moving to 3 days a fortnight from mid August. Planned start of calving is 10 July.  During calving time (July to September)  there will be longer hours as the job will entail picking up  calves etc We milk once a day in July, thereafter twice a day There will be a place on farm to rest and refresh during the day. Join us as a Farm Assistant to work alongside our Farm Manager to help run a 125ha farm, 330 cows at peak. Due to our new staff member not working out and needing to leave us with no notice, we are on the search again for a Senior Farm Assistant to join our team on our Autumn Calving Dairy Farm located in Waimate North, Northland, we are located 15mins south of Kerikeri and Waipapa township in a good dairy farming location. We ideally require a person with a couple of years experience to assist in the operation of our high performing dairy farm, you will work with 3 other fulltime staff including the sharemilkers on farm. We use a covered feedpad as part of operation most days of the year, so experience in loading and feeding out would be an advantage.
