Calf rearer- Feeding of replacement calves morning and night, spraying of navals, spraying of pens once a week, hosing of concrete once a day, feeding of calves on calfeteria and allocation of hard feed, general hygiene and well being of calves. Relief milking- To assist milking two herds through a 24 ASHB with cup removers, teat spraying, bringing in of second herd (requires riding a two wheel motorbike), shed clean up and hosing of yard. Would be required every 2nd weekend.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced relief milker/calf rearer to join our team.  Our farm is located in Kumara on the West Coast.  The position is available with immediate start if possible. We require a reliable relief milker to cover rostered days off on farm for our other staff.  As this role would be sole charge, an experienced competent person is required.  Milking is through a 50 bale rotary shed with ACR's, Protrack and in shed feeding. Knowledge of these systems would be an advantage but full training will be given.  The role could then also encompass the calf rearing role starting at the beginning of August. We are a well-established 700 cow farm.  The role will be sole calf rearer for 175 replacement heifer calves in addition to beef calves and bobbys to 4 days old.
