Due to unforseen circumstances, we require a farm assistant to join us on our farm in Okoroire to assist the milking of 400 cows through a 38 bail rotary.  We are 50/50 Sharemilkers on a family farm. You will need to be able to take instructions from our 2IC.  We are looking for someone who has a real interest in farming and someone who can get to the shed on time.  You would need to be confident on a 2 wheel motorbike and some tractor experience would be an advantage.  You would have to have good stockmanship, a calm nature, honest and reliable.  Your duties are, but not limited to:  milking cows, feeding cows, animal health, effluent.  You need to understand health, safety and wellbeing.   You must have a minimum of 6 months dairy farming experience or a L2 or higher qualification in Agriculture. Fulltime farm assistant required to cover the Rostered days off of our 3 permanent staff for the busy spring period. You will work 10 days a fortnight  as part of the team doing all jobs through the busy spring calving and mating period. The accommodation is one 4 bedroom house to share with our other farm assistant, a young single guy. You must be in New Zealand, and be able to be interviewed on farm to look at the role. We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 460-cow farm in the Temple View area, approximately 10–15 minutes west of Hamilton. The farm operates a 27 Aside Herringbone milking shed. Previous experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking twice a day - shifting cows and feeding  - fencing, weed control - calving, calf rearing - shed cleaning and setup - identifying and alerting managers to sick cows - Setting fences - and other general farm duties. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We are looking for an employee to assist on our dairy farm near Cambridge for 3 months while one of the farm owners has surgery.  This is a fixed term contract on an hourly rate. This role would suit a NZ Resident or someone with a student visa or working holiday visa.  The farm is 108 hectares, milking approximately 315 cows at peak.  We milk twice a day through a 23 aside herringbone cowshed with cup removers, Protrack and Allflex Collars.  We require someone who is reliable and honest  and who is able to assist the farm owner/senior employee from late August to end of November (3 months).
