Our awesome 2IC has found a great opportunity to move into managing which has opened an exciting opportunity on our Collins Rd farm.

This could suit:

• A progressive Herd Manager wanting to step up

• A 2IC wanting to consolidate and grow their skills at scale 

• Or, a Manager /Contract Milker wanting to step back

About the role:

Collins Road farm milks 1000 cows and is located on the Hamilton City Boundary! This farm is finding its sweet spot, and the improvements are clear to see with an experienced and engaged team looking to keep this momentum going.

We are looking for someone who has:  

• 4-5 years (full seasons) of farming experience must have had exposure to large herds.
• Ability to measure, monitor and manage pasture as well as allocate supplements.
• Ability to lead and motivate the team in the managers absence
• Sound knowledge of animal husbandry and animal health (experience in using MINDA would be an advantage)
• Accurate record keeping, planning and organisational skills.
• Takes pride in themselves and their work and is a personal role model for health & safety.
• Team player!
