This role covers tractor operation, general farm maintenance, and support across both the dairy farms and runoff. Join our team on a well-structured dairy farm milking roughly 560 cows. We operate an efficient 40-bail herringbone. There will always be two people milking together as we have no automatic cup removers.This is a drive-in position, making it perfect for someone who already lives locally or prefers to commute and maintain their own off-farm housing. You will work alongside the contract milker to maintain high standards of animal welfare and milk quality. We consider our family owned and run farm a great place to be as it is located just 2 mins from the township of Ahaura and only 30 mins to either Reefton or Greymouth, so we are ideally located for families or single people as there is plenty to do on your days off and there are great schools nearby, there is a lovely country pub too that does great food!  You will need to come to us with at least a good 6 months experience under your belt.   Your duties will include milking, maintaining a clean shed and the normal day to day duties of running a farm.   Most importantly you will need a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and to be serious about building a career in the dairy industry.  There is a lovely 3-bedroom house on farm, and we are looking to pay between $26.00 to $30.00 per hour including accommodation.   We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week.   We are a drug and smoke free farm.
