Are you a high achiever ready to take the lead on a well-invested, high-producing farm? We’re looking for an outstanding Contract Manager to run our 770-cow operation in South Taranaki, from the start of the 2027/28 season.

We work closely with our manager through regular catch-ups, clear goals and open, honest communication. You’ll have real input into the seasonal plan, and the support of an experienced Farm Consultant. We highly value people who think ahead and take initiative. A farm set up for success

• 770 cows on 250 ha effective
• 340,000 kgMS: around 450 kgMS per cow
• 60-bail rotary
• New 400 cow composting barn, so cows are dry and comfortable all winter and pasture is protected
• New automated ad-lib calf feeding system for 200 calves, so spring is easier on calves and the team
• 90 kW solar with battery storage
• Fonterra supplier
• A team of 3 FTE plus 1 seasonal staff member

What you’ll do
Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the farm to deliver the seasonal plan and budget. You’ll lead a skilled team and drive pasture, animal health, calf rearing, milk quality and environmental performance.

You’ll bring

• A proactive approach: you spot issues early, act before they become problems and bring us solutions, not just questions
• A track record of strong results in pasture management and animal health
• Proven ability to lead, develop and keep a great team
• Enthusiasm for using modern systems and data to lift performance
• 3 years experience in contract milking, or farm management - large herd experience would be beneficial
