Looking for a motivated and enthusiastic farm assistant or herd manager for a 750 cow farm near Darfield. Milking through a 40 aside herringbone with auto-cup removers and Halter. Has protrack and has in shed feeding. The cows are predominantly Friesian and are high producing cows. We like the farm to operate at a high standard so we expect the employees to hold the same standard. We pride ourselves in animal husbandry and cleanliness so these aspects are a must in the successful candidate. There is plenty of opportunity to learn and support any off farm learning such as AgITO. Experience is not required however will be an advantage. Must be eligible to work in New Zealand so a New Zealand citizen or resident. We will not be supporting visas. There are school buses running past the gate and is very central to Darfield, Rolleston and Dunsandel and is only 30 mins to Christchurch.

Farm details -   800 cows, 50 bale herringbone, 4 full time staff, 3 calf rearers in spring and I work usually everyday from July 10th - September 20th, so you are well supported. We are looking for a keen, motivated person to join our team on our family farm in Waiau, North Canterbury.  Applicants must have at least 18 months recent NZ dairy experience and be competent in all dairy tasks including milking, feeding out, moving stock & fences & monitoring & treating stock with a minimum of supervision. The successful applicant will help take responsibility for the running of the shed with minimum supervision & be able to supervise & train other staff.  A minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.
