We have a position available for a new team member to join us working on a farm near Otorohanga. We are looking for a farm assistant who will be involved in most aspects of day to day dairy farming.  As it is a busy time of year we will not have enough time available to suitably train someone without experience, so we need someone who can hit the ground running, but an environment to learn on the go, working as a vital team member toward the same common goals. We need someone who is passionate and driven about their job, understand that it can be long, frustrating, and sometimes hard work at times, but also rewarding at the same time.  We don't want a passenger. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic farm assistant to join our dairy farming team. We are a family owned and operated dairy farm, located in Ruawai, Northland. We operate a spring calving, 580 cow, system 3 dairy unit across 230 hectares, targeting 215,000kg/ms, alongside a support block which accommodates our youngstock. The role of farm assistant will require you to be milking twice a day, assisting with milk quality and animal health, assisting with feeding animals and pasture utilisation, assisting with dairy shed hygiene and general farm work. Feed Production Management • Assist with any feed planning or the management of as appropriate. • Assist to manage weeds and pests to maintain pasture and crops. • Milking • Maintain all appropriate effluent management records. • Know what to do when things go wrong. Animals • Implement animal health program to maintain good health. • Assist with calving and the calf rearing program to achieve minimal losses and ensure high quality replacements are available for the herd. • Assist to manage repairs and maintenance schedule for all plant, machinery and infrastructure. • Ensure all relevant company policies are understood and adhered to. • Experience/qualification is an advantage but not essential. • Dedication, commitment and willing to learn are the traits we are looking for.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We are looking for a motivated 2IC to work alongside farm owner. We are looking for someone with experience, motivation and passion. Someone with the ability to step into farm manager Must currently be in New Zealand. Must have at least 2-year dairy experience.
