We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 700-cow farm milking through a 54 Rotary Bale shed in the Ashburton area. The farm is located 10-15 minutes to Ashburton, 30 minutes from Mt Hutt Ski Field.  Previous experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties. We are on the lookout for a senior Farm Assistant to join our small team in Sheffield. Start date: ASAP Location: 5min to Sheffield, and 10min to Darfield. Milking 650 xbred cows through a new 54 bale rotary with ACRs, auto teat spray, atip drafting and inshed feeding. The farm is a flat 156ha property that is irrigated mainly by pivots. On farm staff is the Contract Milker (+wife occasionally helping out), 2IC, and this farm assistant role. We are looking for someone experienced and capable of all tasks on farm and will be paid according to experience.  The successful applicant must have a minimum of 2 seasons experience on a New Zealand based dairy farm.
