We are after someone who looking to join our young team who is punctual and has a good sense of humor to help for 4-5 months over the summer Irrigation season but could become permeant for the right person
the tasks may include
On farm training will be supported
we do have a self contained sleep out avalible
but Lincoln and Leeston are within a 15 mins drive from the farm
Must be willing to do a drug test and have a clean drivers license
Must be eligible to work in NZ and be currently in NZ
The farm is a mixed farming system on the edge of lake Ellesmere which means we have a very diverse business and incorporates the following:
You would be operating under our manager on the dairy unit
*180 ha system 2 Dairy platform aiming for 190,000 KGMS which milks 480 cows through a 30ashb with cup removers and auto drafting irrigated by:
2 Center pivots covering 50ha
80Ha sprinklers 45 Ha Gun irrigation and the remainder in K Line- soon to be partially replaced with a pivot doing 90ha of this
*Halter technology for break management and heat detection
Also helping at times with:
*168 ha irrigated land which supports the farm with youngstock, dairy beef finishing and also grows winterfeed, Maize, wheat, Barley and ryegrass seed crops irrigated by hard hose gun and boom irrigation
*60ha dryland sheep which lambs down 400 ewes and finishes the progeny
*20 ha intensive beef finishing block under pivot
