Waterford Dairy Farm

We require a Dairy Farm Assistant to join our family owned and operated Dairy Farm in Hororata. We have an excellent team of 4 and are looking for the right person who will complete our team. We are located in Hororata, Canterbury. We milk 800 cows through a 50 ASHB, with inshed feeding and allflex collars. We have 2 pivots and a few k-line. Key tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to : Milking : Assists with efficient and hygienic milking practices.  Animals : Assists the team in caring for the cows, keeping up with records, reporting and treating animal health conditions. Feed : Assists in weed control, sets up break fences and assists in feeding out.  Environment : Assists with effluent management, assists with shifting of K-line irrigation.  People : Works efficiently, works well with others, a strong team culture is crucial for our team and business....

We require an Assistant Farm Manager to join our 800 cow family owned and operated dairy farm in Hororata Canterbury. Farm details -   800 cows, 50 bale herringbone, 4 full time staff, 3 calf rearers in spring and I work usually everyday from July 10th - September 20th, so you are well supported. In shed feeding, System 3-4, 535ms per cow, scc under 100 the whole season, Allflex collars, 2 pivots with K-line and fixed grid. Wintering is done on the dairy platform, 6,2 roster, comfortable 3 bedroom home, located 10 minutes from Darfield and Hororata, 25 minutes to Rolleston and 45 minutes from Christchurch.  Please only apply if you have the relevant experience listed on the ad and you are either a NZ citizen, Resident, or hold a valid work visa.
