Job Description
We’re looking for a reliable, motivated person to join our team and help with the day-to-day running of our dairy farm in the picturesque Pohangina Valley. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, outdoor work and wants to build their skills and progress in the dairy industry. About the farm We milk 430 cows once a day in a split-calving system, with 130 autumn-calving cows and 300 spring-calving cows. The 156-hectare farm spans three terraces with different soil types. Fifty hectares of river flats have summer irrigation supplied through Ezi-Rain K-lines. Our older 27-aside herringbone cowshed is clean and well maintained, with Protrack drafting, rubber matting and swing arms. About the role You’ll be involved in a variety of daily tasks, including: Milking and maintaining cowshed hygiene Calf rearing Feeding out Weed spraying General farm maintenance, including fences and cowshed upkeep.
