Drive-In Experienced Tractor Operator

Our client is looking for an experienced machinery operator who enjoys variety, takes pride in your work, and thrives in a large-scale farming environment?

An opportunity is available for a capable Tractor Operator to join a progressive farming business in the Manawatu.  This drive-in role offers approximately 45 hours per week across multiple farming properties located within close proximity of each other.

Working within a well-resourced operation, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of two large-scale dairy farms and an adjoining farming enterprise.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys machinery work while also being willing to lend a hand with general farm maintenance and support tasks when required.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position where you'll take responsibility for a wide range of machinery-based activities across the farming operation.  A significant part of the role will involve feeding out to livestock on feed pads and in paddocks, along with topping, rolling, and other seasonal tractor work as required.  Beyond machinery operation, you'll contribute to the overall success of the farms through general maintenance activities, including water system repairs, fencing maintenance, and other practical farm duties.  You'll also assist with dry stock yard work approximately 2-4 days per month, providing valuable support across the wider farming business.

What You'll Bring

• Previous tractor and machinery operating experience
• Confidence working safely and independently
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience with feeding out systems and general farm machinery
• Basic fencing, water system, and maintenance skills
• A strong work ethic and willingness to assist wherever required
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Experience within dairy or large-scale farming operations would be advantageous
