Farm Assistant – Dairy – Bay of Plenty
Roster: 8 days on / 2 days off
Start: End if August 2026
Pay: From $29.90/hr (negotiable based on experience)
Accommodation: 2 bedroom brand new cottage - sharing with one male staff member or drive in position available
We’re looking for a motivated Farm Assistant to join our friendly team on a 1,200-cow, 290ha dairy farm near Whakatāne. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get a foot in the door of the dairy industry and learn on the job.
IMPORTANT: You must be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident. We are not an accredited employer and cannot provide sponsorship.
What you’ll do:
Milking in our 44-aside herringbone shed
Shifting irrigation pods and sprinklers
Assisting with general farm duties
Learning and taking on more responsibility over time
What we’re looking for:
No experience necessary — just a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Good work ethic and reliability
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions
Full or restricted driver’s licence preferred

Thomas and Alice Lundman – AT Farm Ltd
AT Farm LTD is a contract milking business run by Thomas and Alice Lundman. We are currently contract milking 1,170 cows on a system 5 farm, located 25 minutes from Whakatane near Kawerau. The 285-hectare farm is fully irrigated and requires six staff to operate efficiently.
The herd is a spring-calving Friesian-cross herd milked through a 44-aside herringbone shed.
