Stern Angus is one of New Zealand’s leading Angus stud breeding operations. Selling over 150 bulls to High Country stations throughout the North and South Islands each year and regularly exporting semen and embryos around the world. Stern is an established family operation covering over 800 hectares (780 effective) with 130 hectares irrigated (majority by centre pivots).
Located in Totara Valley, 10 minutes West of Pleasant Point, and 25-30 minutes from Timaru, Geraldine and Fairlie. Pleasant Point boasts two Primary Schools, a strong Young Farmers Club along with Cricket, Rugby, Golf, Squash, Soccer and Netball Clubs. Pleasant Point has a great community for both single people and married couples.
The business currently runs 1900 head of cattle, 600 ewes and trading lambs/cattle plus growing cereal as the seasons allow. This provides great variety of work for the successful applicant as part of an established team.

An opportunity has arisen to join our low turn-over team due to expansion of the property and development of further irrigation. The role will cover all aspects of our business:
*Stock work – sheep and stud cattle work
*Pasture management
*Animal health
*Tractor work – Ag work and feeding out
*General farm maintenance
*Irrigation work
Ideal Applicant The ideal applicant will have the following qualities: *A positive attitude *Good communication skills
*Be able to work in a team environment
*Be physically fit and in good health
*Willingness to learn
*Passionate stock person
Single or three bedroom cottage accommodation available for the right applicant.
