An Agricultural Mobile Plant Operator drives and maintains specialized vehicles and machinery to cultivate land, manage/ harvest crop and maintain agricultural farmland. This includes operating tractors, harvesters, sprayers, and loaders, digger as well as carrying out routine servicing and ensuring strict health and safety compliance.
The role spans a variety of critical tasks essential for the seasonal demands of farming. Our farm size is 600ha above.
Core Responsibilities
- Land Preparation & Cultivation: Operating tractor-drawn or self-propelled equipment to plough, till, sow and fertilize land.
- Crop Maintenance: Utilizing specialized sprayers and attachments for pest control, weed management.
- Farm Maintenance: operating machinery such as digger and loader to do tasks such as repairs and adding new water lines, farm fencing work such as repair or put new permanent fences, other work such as planting and clearing tress where needed.
- Harvesting: Driving and controlling complex harvesting machinery to collect and process crops efficiently such as mowers, rakes, balers, wrappers.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conducting pre-start hazard checks, routine cleaning, greasing, and minor mechanical repairs on mobile plant equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to workplace health and safety protocols across varying terrain and weather conditions.
Typical Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensing: Class 1 driver’s license.
- Experience: Some practical experience operating agricultural machinery
- Physical & Environmental Aptitude: Ability to perform physical labour and work comfortably in rural, outdoor environments.
Working hours and pay etc.
You will be required to work 35 to 50 hours per week.
Pay rate ranging from $30 to $40, depends on your capabilities.
