Spring Assistant and Relief Milker Supporting Farm Manager with morning milking, collecting cows and calves from mid July to end of AB mid November followed by regular relief milking available for 3 days every second weekend to provide Manager time off. Our flat 90ha farm is located very close to Okato township and this is a drive-in position. Milking 240 jersey cows through a 22 aside herringbone cowshed operated as a low input grass based system with a small amount of inshed feed utilised when required.  Competitive hourly rate available.

Calf rearer- Feeding of replacement calves morning and night, spraying of navals, spraying of pens once a week, hosing of concrete once a day, feeding of calves on calfeteria and allocation of hard feed, general hygiene and well being of calves. Relief milking- To assist milking two herds through a 24 ASHB with cup removers, teat spraying, bringing in of second herd (requires riding a two wheel motorbike), shed clean up and hosing of yard. Would be required every 2nd weekend.

Ota Dairies, located 5 minutes out of Edendale, is looking for a drive in casual relief milker to help out on the farm for the rest of the season. The days will depend on the roster and we are flexible on what that looks likes, working hours are around 2-3 at a time. Hourly rate of $27 - $35 including holiday pay depending on experience. Position available for a  person to help on a dairy farm for a minimum of 30 hrs a week. Some dairy experience helpful, but most important will be a willingness to learn and follow procedures for farm operations. Approx 6hrs a day for 5 days a week. Primarily looking for an experienced tractor operator and ideally someone who has fencing experience.  The job is a dairy farm job so there will be other day to day jobs and also at times the covering of some milkings would be required. 

We are looking for 2 people for a 2-3 month placement on our farms over our busy period of spring/calving August-September only, we are fully staffed outside of calving. The roster would be a 6 on 1 off roster, This may suit a couple as both would have the same time off and one person would be working on each farm. With our business expanding next season, we are looking to bring on new staff to help fill the newly available rolls for next season. Some current staff are progressing into higher positions within in the business also opening up their current positions. We are looking for a part time person to fill in the gaps for us during the season. From August to December the work will range from 40-60hrs/week and there will be relief milking available from January until May at around 25hrs/week if the person decides to stay on.
