We have a job available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 1150-cow farm in the Whataroa area, milking through a 70 Bail Rotary shed. Experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing, shed cleaning and setup, identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 60. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate  for each additional hour worked. This is a drive in position in Hinds - 25mins to Ashburton Canterbury. We are looking for a trooper to join our team from 25th July 2026 through to 10th December 2026. The right person will rear 200 heifer replacement calves and 100 bull beef calves on the farm with an opportunity to also rear an extra 250 bull calves on a neighboring farm.
