The farm is located approximately 45 minutes from Invercargill and milks through a 25 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking and monitoring milk quality, training junior staff, stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), fencing, weed control, calving, calf rearing, shed maintenance & preparation, tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 60. Are you looking for variety in your tractor driving/fencing work day?  No week will ever be the same; with three dairy platforms, two run offs, and a cut and carry unit to keep you busy. As our business grows we simply have too much work for one person, so we need you. We are looking for someone with proven experience fencing and tractor driving. You must be a self starter, have initiative and be able to work unsupervised.    Work will be Monday - Friday, although depending on the workload some Saturday work required may be required. Remuneration will be mutually agreed upon depending on experience and skill levels. Work will start as a Fixed Term role with the possibility of progressing to a Permanent Full Time role. Accommodation is available. Location is great. The farms are centrally located, approx. 1hr45 to Queenstown, 1 hour to Te Anau.

Due to expansion within our business, we are looking for someone to help our runoff manager. We are a family owned business with five dairy farms and a number of runoffs. We do a significant amount of the contracting work "in house," so are searching for someone with a wide range of skills. Your daily work would be quite varied and would include tractor/ground work, silage/baleage making, and stock work. Over winter we help to shift the dairy cows on crop and sometimes may do some milkings on the dairy farms. We work as a team so require someone with great communication skills and the ability to get on with a wide range of people. You will report to our runoff manager, who will provide support and training as needed. A positive attitude and a high work ethic are needed. There will be times (e.g. baleage making), where the hours will be long, but you will be working with a great team. Start date has some flexibility.

We are hand on owners that work alongside our staff day in day out. We all work together on both farms to get the jobs done. Duties Include, Milking unsupervised, Calf rearing, weed control, Crop shifting, Effluent management, young stock work at runoff, Fencing and other farm duties.
