We are requiring a new person to join our team for the 26/27 season.  This position could be good for someone who is a farm assistant looking to move to a herd manager position. You will need to have a minimum of 2.5 years of Nz dairy experience, preferably on large herd farms.  Our farm is situated halfway between Methven and Ashburton.  We are fully irrigated and run a 54 bail shed. We are small family owned and operated dairy farm with 450 jersey cows looking for our next permanent full-time Farm Assistant. Our farm is located in the Canterbury foothills in Mount Somers which is 20 minutes from Methven and 30 minutes to Ashburton and we milk twice daily through a 40 aside herringbone cowshed with grain feeders, auto cup removers and auto teat spray. You will work as part of team to complete daily jobs of milking (twice daily), moving stock, setting up paddocks, tractor work, spraying, moving k-lines for effluent as well as general maintenance and cleaning.
