Ma Taua Dairies is looking for a milk harvester.  Starting 24th August, for a fixed term contract. Ma Taua Dairies is located in Mid-Canterbury, close to Hinds and Ashburton and is milking 1130 cows through a 80 bail rotary. Minimum 20hours per week.  Experience is preferred but not essential. CNR Farming has an exciting opportunity for a Dairy Assistant in our business. The farm peak milks 780 cows through a 54 bale rotary on 240ha platform, fully irrigated by pivots with some fixed grid and a small area sprinklers. We are a Halter farm, as well as ACR's, automatic drafting. We target production of 480 a cow and are a system 4, with a real focus on maximising pasture harvested. A variety of tasks are in this role: learning pasture\feed management, setting up breaks, milking cows to a hygienic and healthy level, including somatic cell count, identifying calving cows, calf rearing, working on animal health issues, washing the plant, feeding out, shifting irrigation, ensuring health records are kept up to date, plus other farm tasks that arise from time to time.
