We have a farm assistant role available. This role will assist with the day-to-day operations of the farm, working closely with the herd owning sharemilker.   We twice a day milk 360 cows on 115 hectares, through a modern 32 aside herringbone with automatic cup removers, on flat land 10 minutes from Matamata. Milking's are fast and efficient. Milking : Assist with the milking of 650 jersey cross cows through a 36 aside herringbone shed Calf Rearing:  Feeding and monitoring the health of 250+ calves, and preserving a clean and healthy                                  environment Farm maintenance ; including the up-keep of machinary, fences, waterlines and weed control Stock management : Moving and drafting stock, and setting up of break fences. Milking through a 30 a side herringbone shed with cup removers. Farm is flat to rolling contour. Farm duties include but not limited to Milking Shed/plant cleaning and maintenance Weed control Fencing Effluent management General stock management General R&M This position is until the end of the 2026/2027 season.  The ideal applicant would have NZ farming experience.
