We have a vacancy for a honest & reliable farm assistant on a 450 cow farm. 12 minutes from Feilding and 25 minutes from Palmerston North. Duties would include Milking and general farm duties. A minimum of one year’s recent dairy farm experience in New Zealand required. Must pass a pre employment drug test. Drivers license required. 1 bedroom accommodation is available would suit a single person.

Have the confidence and skills to run a cowshed, ensuring all procedures are followed to avoid milk penalties, can do plant & vat washes Can identify sick animals and treat them Good stockmanship skills Duties : Milk Cows Plant & Vat washes, cleaning of shed & yards  Assist contract milker team to pick up calves, draft cows etc.  Feed out - feed pad During summer months - weed spraying

Our team requires a key piece for our puzzle. We are after an enthusiastic and switched on individual who is looking to learn and grow. We have 220 cows on 90 Ha going through a 20 ASHB cowshed. On a stunning farm with pockets of native bush and beautiful views just outside Marton. You can expect to work alongside the Contract Milker. We are focused on refining systems and processes to maintain animal welfare and support this progressive farm to improve and exceed expectations. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the farm and will require the following skills/attributes: Honest, hardworking, trusted and reliable team player.
