We are 50/50 share milkers milking 500 cows, autumn calving on a North Waikato Farm located in Te Kauwhata. The farm is in a great central location, 35 minutes to Hamilton and 50 minutes to Auckland. The farm is  close to Coromandel with beaches as close as 30 minutes away. The farm has a mixture of easy to rolling contour with a small portion of steeper paddocks at the back of the farm. Cow shed is 36 aside Herringbone with drafting and automatic teat sprayer. Being autumn calving we feed cows on the feed pad from March (start of calving) to around mid September until we can fully feed the cows on grass. We are seeking a trust worthy, reliable person with a genuine interest in dairy farming, we are supportive with off farm training, always happy to see people progressing through the industry. We are looking for a progressive herd manager for the 2025/2026 season. The job is located at Te Kauwhata Waikato The dairy platform is 220ha, peak milking is 685 cows through a 48a side HB shed. As Herd Manager, you will be in charge of and responsible for the dairy sheds. You will be expected to: • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness to a high standard. • Implement, Monitor and Report on animal Health, Calving and Mating Plans. • Identify and treat animal Health problems. • Management of soil, nutrients, effluent and water to meet environmental regulations. • Support and training of staff and students to further their development. • Safely use and maintain farm vehicles and machinery. We have a zero-tolerance drug policy and use both pre-employment and ongoing random drug testing. Due to personal reasons a staff member has left and we require a farm assistant to join our team. we milk 1250 cows through a 64 bale rotary. each person only cups 350-400 cows and then does other duty's while milking.  the cow shed is very efficient using protrack, cup removers and auto teat sprayer. Staff are on a 6/2 roster all year round. we have the young stock down the back of the farm with a well equip team to manage them.
