Fully Feeding, milking twice a day for 2/3 of the season and maintaining outstanding health and wellbeing all year on our 800 dairy cows. Taking care of our soil, protecting it from any damage and nutrient loss. Working on your own and with other staff, following instructions, and contributing to improving a positive workplace.  Keeping our pastures weed free, grubbing and spraying weeds. Improving the farm presentation, cleaning dairy shed, mowing or spraying areas that don't get grazed, fencing ect. Helping with livestock feeding and any other chores related to the care of our animals.

We are seeking a permanent Dairy Herd Manager to contribute to the success and efficiency on one of the farms located at Inangahua, West Coast. We are looking for a farm assistant to join our team, with at least 1 years of experience on dairy farm. Apart from the knowledge build up previously if you show you are passionate about the industry, have the right attitude and willingness to keep learning and work hard then you will be considered for the role. We contract milk 1350 cows in Bankside with Halter collar system. We milk through two sheds of 44 aside herringbone. In this moment one of the sheds has Protrack and in shed feed system. We have 2 positions available for calf rearers near Rangiora. We have 1300 cows and rear 350 replacements in total over 2 farms. The focus is on attention to detail and healthy replacement and bobby calves as well as running an efficient calf rearing system. All roles require a strong, physically capable person able to handle calves. The farms are 1km from Rangiora. Due to our overseas agri students finishing there practical work we have a great opportunity as herd manager. We oversee a group of four dairy farms. Two in the Longbeach area (Mid Canterbury) and two in the Rangitata area (South Canterbury). The farms are milking betweeen 700-1100 cows. We have rotary sheds with Pro track and cup removers. It is mostly under pivot irrigation with some fixed grid and sprinklers.
