We are looking for a farm assistant to join our team, with at least 1 years of experience on dairy farm. Apart from the knowledge build up previously if you show you are passionate about the industry, have the right attitude and willingness to keep learning and work hard then you will be considered for the role. We contract milk 1350 cows in Bankside with Halter collar system. We milk through two sheds of 44 aside herringbone. In this moment one of the sheds has Protrack and in shed feed system. The successful applicant will be part of a six person team with support from the Contract Milkers. Your duties would eventually include all aspects of dairy farming including the following (but not limited to): Maintain fencing and water supply in a good working condition. Milking ( Milking time 2.5-3 hours) - Break fencing if needed - General farm maintenance - Animal health (calf drenching, identify and treat mastitis, others) -Assist with a weed control programme for the farm.- Assisting with young stock (when required).

The Farm located at north rakaia road (supply 37415) have an milking área of 140 has and the other Farm located at south two chain road are about 130 has of milking platform. Both farms are joined. Irrigation is through three pivots, 4 travel irrigators, fix grid and some sprinklers. We winter cows on farm with fodder beet and kale crops.
