We are seeking two experienced farm workers (12+ months’) to work as Herd Managers on an 850-cow farm in the Morrinsville area, milking through a 50 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation, - tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health - and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 35. We have an opportunity for a casual staff member to help us on our two farms over the calving and mating period (July-Dec). We have two dairy farms both running 300 cows located 10mins North of Morrinsville. The role will mainly involve milking and some small duties either side of milking like collecting cows or cleaning up. The hours will be roughly 20-30hrs per week and are to help during the days staff are rostered off, you will most likely be working directly with the farm owner.
