Experienced Farm Assistant / Herd Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Farm Assistant or Herd Manager to join our team on a well-run dairy farm located north of Morrinsville.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sound dairy farming knowledge who is passionate about the industry and keen to continue developing their skills. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a long-term career in dairy farming, with opportunities for growth both on our farm and into the future.

About the Farm

  • 320-cow dairy herd
  • System 2 dairy operation
  • 34-aside herringbone shed with Automatic Cup Removers (ACRs)
  • Well-maintained equipment and facilities
  • Supportive, respectful, and progressive working environment

The Role

You will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the farm, including:

  • Milking and shed management
  • Animal health and welfare
  • Stock movement and pasture management
  • Calving and young stock care
  • Fencing, maintenance, and general farm duties
  • Operating farm machinery (experience preferred)
  • Maintaining high standards of animal welfare, cleanliness, and health and safety

What We're Looking For

  • Previous New Zealand dairy farming experience
  • Experience as a Farm Assistant or Herd Manager
  • Confident milking in a herringbone shed
  • A genuine passion for the dairy industry
  • A willingness to learn and continue growing your farming knowledge
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, honest, and motivated
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence preferred
