We are seeking an experienced farm worker (2+ years) for an Assistant Farm Manager position on an 850-cow farm located in the Morrinsville area. The farm is approximately 30 minutes from Paeroa and 22 minutes from Ngatea, milking through a 50 Aside Herringbone shed.
You'll have a range of responsibilities including the day-to-day management support including:
- Milking
- Shed Management
- Animal Husbandry and Production
- Animal Health Monitoring, Management and Treatment
- Pasture and fodder Management
- Maintenance of Shed, Equipment and Machinery
- Breeding, Calving and Calf rearing Management
- Cattle transportation
- Staff Management
- and other general farm duties.
Weekly hours are a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 35. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate.
The schedule may vary but generally work hours are between 5am and go through 5pm with meal and rest breaks; Roster will be 11 days on, 3 days off for the rest of the year.
Salary is $75,000 per annum.
Candidates must have previous dairy farming experience and are required to provide good related references.
