We are looking for Assistant Farm Manager to help run the daily operation of a 680 high production cow farm near invercargill, Southland. 215 hectare effective. A 44 aside herringbone shed for milking with in-shed feeding, auto drafting, with cow collar to aid with health monitoring and mating.  To be considered for the role you must have herringbone cowshed experience and a strong background on all aspect of day to day running of the operation and a solid work ethics. You will be expected to lead a team of junior staff, monitor pasture and animal health with the basic farm and machinery maintenance and know how.  In return a competitive renumeration package with a 3 bedroom house with heat pump.

We are seeking a Herd Manager or Farm Assistant on a 600-cow farm located approximately 20 minutes west of Invercargill, milking through a 40 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including:   - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - stock handling and feeding - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation,   - tractor operation for feeding out, fertiliser, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30, with an average of 45 and a maximum of 60. Roster will follow a double rotation of 8 days on, 3 days off then 8 days on, 2 days off for the rest of the year.
