2 50 50 sharemilker jobs found in Atarau, West Coast Region

This is a new 50/50 role; and we are looking for a keen couple who wish to progress and grow their equity.  The farm produced 130,000kg milksolids (25/26 Season) under a low input pasture-based system using a 10in7 flexible milking system.  The shed is a 38 aside herringbone with ACR, Protack gate and we are currently using Sensehub collars.  Halter would certainly be an option that would be considered as a 70/30 shared cost. The cows are wintered on crop and the heifers are grazed off farm (shared cost).  There is further potential to lift cow numbers and/or production using an in shed feed system that is available.  Land development on the periphery of the property is ongoing. The herd would be available for purchase at valuation. The farm is less than 30 minutes from Greymouth, with the school bus (primary and secondary) at the gate.

The dairy farm has a 7-year-old 50 bale rotary, with ACR’s, auto teat spray, auto drafting and in-shed feeding.  Halter is well established, and is a shared 25/75 cost between the FO and SM (used on the dairy and runoffs).   Solar panel power to the shed and water supply is being investigated.  The farm is in a rectangle shape with great lanes and cow movement.  There is no river boundary or irrigation.  It is well set up with regular regrassing (summer crops) and a very sound fertiliser history.  The current FO and SM have been farming the property together for the last 4 years – with the SM now progressing to buy their own property (the herd has already been sold).  Rearing 25% replacements.  Production has increased each year (last year 195,759 and 450/cow) and is on target to break 200,000 this season.  With the addition of the new 90 ha runoff (15 minutes from the dairy – and where the owner lives); it is intended to increase cow numbers up to 450 to winter; and...
