ABOUT US: We are owner/operators on a coastal farm located 20mins from both Ashburton and Rakaia. We operate a 185 Ha platform, milking 600 cows with a grass-based system with wintering on platform. We have a 40 ASHB shed with ACR's, walkover teat spray, Protrack drafting gate & CowManager. We are seeking someone to fill a Herd Manager position on our 1200-cow farm 20 minutes inland from Ashburton. We currently milk 1200 cows through a modern 80 bale rotary off 345 ha, the farm has excellent irrigation, infrastructure, and machinery. We are running five fulltime staff and are a family fun and lovely team environment. We are looking some who has two years’ experience, with a good attitude and wants to keep learning. You must be mature enough to be punctual and keen to make a career in the dairy industry. Preferably you will have a driver’s license as you will be needed to drive on public roads. We also require you to have a good knowledge of riding a two-wheeler motorbike and tractor. We require you to have an excellent understanding of animal health in, picking up mastitis, lame cows and having a good understanding in how treat.
