With our amazing 2IC heading back overseas in October we are now seeking a motivated and reliable person or couple to help us milk 500 quiet crossbred cows through an older but efficient 32 bale rotary shed. This is a fixed term role for the remainder of the season midway between Whitianga and Coromandel towns. Main duties include getting cows in, milking, effluent management, water management and general farm tidying and maintenance. There is not much tractor work so if this is not a strength that's no issue. We value reliability and people who have a calm demeanor around livestock and co-workers. We are open to a range of scenarios and ideally would like a full time worker and part time milker. We have 2 accommodation options which can be discussed but both can be basically furnished if required and are located right on the harbours edge. We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working person to join our team. Our business specialises in clearing and removing animal bedding from sheds, so this is a hands-on role involving machinery operation and physical work. We’re looking for someone who: ● Can preferably operate a tractor / skid steer and other machinery ● Is physically fit and comfortable with manual labour ● Has a strong understanding of health and safety and can follow safe work procedures ● Is reliable, practical and has a good work ethic ● Can work well as part of a team ● Holds a current driver licence ● Can pass a pre-employment drug test Experience with farming, machinery or similar physical work would be an advantage, but reliability, safety and a willingness to get stuck in are most important. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We rear ~70 replacement calves and they stay on farm until 1st May. This is a great opportunity to work with the farm owners and set yourself up for a great career in dairying.
