With our amazing 2IC heading back overseas in October we are now seeking a motivated and reliable person or couple to help us milk 500 quiet crossbred cows through an older but efficient 32 bale rotary shed. This is a fixed term role for the remainder of the season midway between Whitianga and Coromandel towns. Main duties include getting cows in, milking, effluent management, water management and general farm tidying and maintenance. There is not much tractor work so if this is not a strength that's no issue. We value reliability and people who have a calm demeanor around livestock and co-workers. Due to a change in circumstances we are looking for 2x team members from the beginning of September to join our team full time. We milk 750 cows through a modern 54 bail rotary that is centrally located. Our roster is 6 days on 1 day off over calving with the remaining season 6 days on 2 days off. Top 400 cows twice a day, the rest once a day morning only, everything once a day March to end of May. We have a system that allows for not getting cows in, they walk themselves to milking while the coffees being drunk. Calves are grazed off farm from January till they return in May the following year as in calf. All ground work is done in house so plenty of tractor work available. We are looking for a permanent staff member to jump aboard our team once our Scottsman's visa has run out in November. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available.
