We are looking for a dedicated Farm assistant/Herd Manager. Close to town. we have 560 cows on 212ha, milking through a 40aside herringbone cowshed located close to Tokoroa. We are all a hardworking team who are fully aware of their roles & responsibilities on a daily basis. Key tasks and responsibilities: Milking cows, setting up break fences, identifying and treating mastitis, tractor driving - ability to feed out, calving cows - feeding calves - identify cows in heat - H&S compliance - Recording of animal health details - general farm maintenance. Fulltime farm assistant required for our dairy farm! You will work 11 days a fortnight  as part of the team doing all jobs through the busy spring calving and mating period. Our herd manager will be taking maternity leave at the end of the year and we are looking for a relief staff member who would like to gain more experience on farm while she is away! We are milking 500 fresian cows in a 40 a/s herringbone . Located near Arapuni. The job would require twice a day milkings. We are looking for someone dedicated, responsible with reliable transportation and a lack of excuses. We are a fun young team and love to have a laugh and reach our goals. There is plenty of work available for an employee outside of milkings if looking to gain more hours during the day on farm. This position would need at least 1 year experience milking in a herringbone.
