We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 1,500-cow farm in the Balfour area. The farm is located approximately 45 minutes from Gore and operates two Herringbone milking sheds. Previous experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking twice a day - shifting cows and feeding  - fencing, weed control - calving, calf rearing - shed cleaning and setup - identifying and alerting managers to sick cows - Setting fences - and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 50. We milk 750 cows through a modern 54 bail rotary that is centrally located. Our roster is 6 days on 1 day off over calving with the remaining season 5 days on 2 days off.
