We are currently looking for a Dairy assistant to help July-August. The candidate will need a current work visa. The ideal candidate would have experience working on a New Zealand dairy farm, but any required training will be given to the right person. The job will include helping with calf rearing, milking in a rotary shed, moving fences, spraying weeds and other general duties. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude to join our team. Our farm is located at Dorie, Mid Canterbury. The farm is 750ha (total) milking 2600 cows through two rotary sheds. We run on a 7-2-7-2-7-3 roster.

milking 450-500 cows through a 36 aside herringbone with in shed feeding. Cows have collars. You will work as a team to complete daily jobs of milking cows (twice daily) setting up breaks, moving stock, tractor work, moving effluent irrigator, spraying thistle, picking up branches, cleaning and general maintenance plus anything else that has to do with running a dairy farm. irrigation: lateral You will shift this once you have been taught.
