We are seeking a experienced Assistant farm Manager/ Farm Manager to join our team. We are located at Morven,10 minutes from Waimate. The farm milks 1400 cows through a rotary shed, split calving spring 1000 cow and Autumn 400 cows.   Farm have winter barns and cows stays barn at winter. we run a 6 on 3 off roster except August we running 6 on 1 off roster. We got relief milker and calf rearer.   We are looking for someone that is: - Reliable - Strong observation skills - Good communication skills - Be a leader for the team.  The role will include making pasture management decisions, management of the cowshed, managing the other staff, delegating jobs , Operating and Maintain machinery etc.  This position comes with a single man unit. Solid Dairy experience including leadership and running systems  Excellent tractor skills.  Large herd experience ideal  Cows have collars , experience with Allflex also ideal. A position to suit someone with 2-3 years of NZ dairy farming experience. Must have a competent  knowledge of pasture, animal health husbandry and daily dairy farming tasks. we are after an honest punctual hands on person who is capable of working sole or in a team. A positive attitude with confidence on running the dairy on daily basis will be expected. Role includes Milking twice daily ( will be assisted and non assisted)weed control, pasture management, assisting calf rearing and other daily chores. The role will be ideal for a couple (calf rearing and relief milking are available) A clean police record, drivers license is expected.We could request a pre employment drug test and random testing could occur. Housing option are available on site and another one at 5 minutes drive.
