Due to unforeseen circumstances we are on the lookout for a 2ic or herd manager on our 500-520 cow farm located in Gordonton. Between Morrinsville and Gordonton. The shed is a 36 aside Herringbone shed with in shed feed.  You will report to and work alongside the manager on farm.  Due to lack of accomodation this is a shared accomodation role so would suit a single person. The roll requires an enthusiastic attitude, with the skills to work as a team and communicate well with fellow staff and employer. Expectations for the roll include: knowledge of animal health (mastitis detection + treatment, assisting down cows, assisting calving cows etc) Heat detection for mating  Record keeping for animal treatments and monthly hygiene checks Effluent management  Some pasture management skills  Safe and confident Tractor operations  Two and four wheel farm bike experience General maintenance skills (fences, water leaks etc) The Farm operates on 250ha milking 540 cows through a modern 40 per side shed with Automatic cup removers and in shed feeding. 

Looking for an experienced herd manager/2IC.  This position requires experience farming including milking shed management, stock work and machinery operation and basic knowledge of feed management. We farm near Matamata on 170 ha of rolling to flat contoured dairy farm 38 ASHB with ACR's and inshed feeding We feed out maize silage as needed and grass silage in paddock.
