We are looking for a dairy farm assistant for our dairy farm located in the waitaki valley, 10 minutes to Kurow and Duntroon, located 45 minutes from Oamaru. The farm milks 400 cows through a 54 bail rotary with in shed feeding and ACRs, irrigated via pivots, fixed grid and k-line. Day to day tasks and responsibilities include milk harvesting - ensuring production of high-quality milk, cleaning and maintaining the milking plant feeding the cows - follow instructions for setting up breaks. Assist with weed control.  moving and handling stock in a safe manner assist with the operation and management of the dairy effluent system You'll need to be physically fit and able to ride 2 wheel motorbikes Roster is 6 and 2. May be subject to change.  During calving roster may change and may include weekend work. Tractor experience would be advantageous along with some experience operating 2 and 4 wheelers on hills. 4 bedroom family home available....

The farm milks 600 cows through a 40 aside herringbone with in shed feeding and ACRs, irrigated via pivots and k-line. Day to day tasks and responsibilities include milk harvesting - ensuring production of high-quality milk, cleaning and maintaining the milking plant feeding the cows - follow instructions for setting up breaks. Assist with weed control. Cows are wintered on the dairy farm, and you will be required to shift crop breaks over winter. moving and handling stock in a safe manner assist with the operation and management of the dairy effluent system You'll need to be physically fit and able to ride 2 wheel motorbikes Tractor driving experience would be advantageous Roster is 6 and 2.
