Our sharemilker of the past 3 years is looking to move to the Waikato. The farm will eventually be a solar farm but before that we want to continue as a dairy farm. The contract is only for a one year term with potential of a second year. We are looking for a:
Honest, motivated, energetic, with ability to run a farm with an absentee owner and comfortable with reporting to a farm supervisor.
Excels at pasture, supplement and stock management by applying best practice while complying with environmental regulations and safety
• Demonstrable track record of using tools to monitor and manage pasture – pasture assessment, rotation planners and feed budgeting (key skills you need to possess)
• Have a good herd with a good production history
• No surprises communication habit – timely monthly reporting and keeps in touch
• Must have reliable farm machinery that includes tractor, side feed wagon, mower, fert & mag spreader, bikes and calf rearing equipment
• Obsessive about farm presentation & cleanliness and undertakes farm maintenance
