Permanent - Full Time Farm Assistant

Job Description

Farm Assistant/2IC position available 10 minutes from Ngatea.

110ha flat contour, system 3 farm, 410 peak crossbred cows milked, 36 aside Herringbone shed with Automatic cup removers. Spring calving.

Start date 30 November 2026 negotiable. Wages are negotiable depending on experience. Roster is 8 on 2 off.

We are looking for:

  • An honest, reliable and enthusiastic person
  • Good work ethic
  • Someone who is capable of working independently and within a team
  • 1 years experience preferred but not essential. We could consider a career changer.
  • Only New Zealand residents to apply (we are not accredited employers)

Main duties include:

  • Milking and getting cows in
  • Weed control
  • Maintaining fences/putting up break fences
  • Loading and feeding out grass silage, maize silage and Palm Kernel

The successful applicant will be expected to take part in all duties related to the running of the dairy farm.  A great opportunity for someone to gain a wide range of experience.
