We are looking for four reliable, motivated, and hardworking individuals to join our team as Dairy Farm Assistants or Farm Workers. This is an excellent opportunity for people looking to start or grow their careers in the dairy industry. You will work closely with the Contract Milker to ensure the smooth running of daily farm operations.
Milking 1,150 cows at peak through a 54-bale rotary shed.
Rolling contour farm.
Shared, well-maintained on-farm accommodation provided.
Milking: Assisting with twice-daily milking for most of the year.
Animal health and welfare: Monitoring livestock and providing appropriate care.
Calf rearing: Feeding calves, carrying out health checks, and providing general care.
Feeding stock: Preparing and distributing feed as required.
Effluent management: Operating and maintaining effluent systems.
Farm maintenance: Fencing, weed control, and general farm duties.
Farm compliance: Following health and safety, environmental, and animal welfare requirements.
Previous dairy farming experience is preferred, but training will be provided for suitable candidates.
A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
Willingness to work early mornings, with shifts starting around 4:00 AM.
Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to operate two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and tractors, or willingness to learn.
Availability to work 30–40 hours per week.
Willingness to live on-farm in shared accommodation.
A clear criminal record.
A valid driver's licence or legal eligibility to drive in New Zealand.
No pets are permitted on the farm or in farm accommodation.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited anywhere on the farm and in farm accommodation.
All employees must comply with the farm's drug and alcohol policy and follow all workplace health and safety requirements.
💰 $29.66 per hour
