An opportunity is available for a 50/50 sharemilker on our 520-cow dairy farm at Lower Scott’s Gap, Southland. The 186ha farm has a predominantly flat contour, featuring a 40-aside herringbone shed with an in-shed meal feeding system. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their farming operation and has the skills, experience and drive to achieve strong production and performance outcomes.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Proven experience in dairy farm management.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage and maintain low somatic cell count (SCC).
Excellent pasture management skills to maximise pasture utilisation and farm performance.
A proactive approach to animal health, welfare and day-to-day farm management.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with farm owners and other contractors.
Strong record keeping, organisational, and financial management skills.
