I have a number of clients who are soon to be seeking contract milkers for the 2027/28 season.
I am a consultant in Southland who works with dairy farm owners on a regular basis. Currently I have 6-10 dairy farms that will be soon seeking suitable contract milkers.
Key qualities of successful applicants are;
- Strong farm management experience, especially feed management.
- Good staff management skills.
- Good references and work history.
- Previous experience as a contract milker or farm manager, 2IC may be considered in some instances.
- A clear history of on farm compliance including record keeping and environmental stewardship.
